Hola a todos,
Quiero contarles algo que no es fácil. De hecho, han sido unos de los días más difíciles en mi vida, y es que ha llegado el momento de decir adiós a lo que tanto amo.
Mis primeros pasos fueron en el futbolito. Luego, pisé por primera vez el Guido Blanco, todavía conservo el recuerdo de esa cancha de tierra, donde comencé a jugar fútbol.
Ha sido un viaje largo, con momentos buenos y otros no tanto. Viví experiencias extraordinarias, pero también algunas muy duras. Sin embargo, hoy, viendo todo el recorrido, definitivamente valió la pena.
En las últimas horas me he detenido a pensar en todo mi andar, y solo puedo dar gracias por haber tenido la suerte de dedicarme a lo que me apasiona y me hace feliz: el fútbol.
Y sí, claro que es complicado dejar todo atrás, pero hoy estoy orgulloso. Por lo conseguido, por las vivencias, por los aprendizajes, y en especial por tanta gente valiosa que a lo largo de todos estos años me acompañó. A cada una de ellas quiero darle las gracias:
A mi familia, por apoyarme desde el inicio, los sacrificios que hicieron y por acompañarme en los momentos cuando más los necesité.
A mi esposa y a su familia por hacerme sentir en casa estando a miles de kilómetros de donde nací. Sin su comprensión y apoyo este viaje no habría sido el mismo. Han sido mi soporte todo este tiempo.
A mis amigos, quienes nunca dudaron que yo podía superar cualquier obstáculo.
Al Caracas Fútbol Club, el equipo que siempre soñé representar, donde dí mis primeros pasos y aprendí lecciones valiosas que me abrieron las puertas al mundo.
Al Brujas por ser el club que inició mi camino fuera de Venezuela y el cual fue clave en mi adaptación al fútbol europeo. Con ellos logré cumplir con un sueño: jugar Europa League. Le doy las gracias a los directivos y fanáticos con los que conviví al llegar a la institución.
Al Anderlecht, que siempre será mi equipo, porque me respaldó en todos los aspectos. Tengo recuerdos maravillosos por los títulos obtenidos, y me dejó amistades para toda la vida. Además, pude sentir lo que significan las noches mágicas de Champions.
Al Balikesirspor, por la oportunidad y la confianza que me brindaron para volver al máximo nivel después de una dura lesión. También me hicieron poner los pies sobre la tierra con invaluables enseñanzas acerca de la vida.
Al AEK, en donde pude vivir el mejor año de mi carrera futbolística, por su inigualable afición, poseedores de una historia increíble. Fue un honor vestir su camiseta.
Al Newcastle, allí viví una experiencia total, por lo futbolístico, la parte humana. Me arroparon con un cariño inexplicable en una de las lesiones más fuertes que tuve.
Al Ostende y al Deinze por darme la oportunidad de volver a Bélgica, mi segunda casa, donde he vivido grandes momentos durante mi carrera.
¿Y cómo no? A mí amada Vinotinto, esa que es más que un equipo de fútbol. La selección representa todo para mi, porque no hay nada más importante que llevar los colores de mi país. Es mi sangre y mi pasión. Me siento orgulloso de tantos momentos históricos que vivimos juntos y los llevaré conmigo durante toda la vida.
En todo camino hay guías, por eso agradezco a cada uno de los entrenadores que me brindaron las mejores herramientas para crecer. Gracias por abrirme las puertas del fútbol y creer en mí.
A todos mis compañeros de trabajo: utileros, doctores, fisioterapeutas, jugadores, personal administrativo y directivos con los que compartí, porque confiaron en mi trabajo, me brindaron herramientas y serán imborrables en mi carrera. Esta profesión me dejó amigos y hermanos.
A los fanáticos, ustedes siempre estarán en mi corazón. Gracias por ese amor incondicional que me brindaron desde el primer hasta el último día de mi carrera.
Pero, sobre todo, quiero dar gracias al fútbol, por ser ese deporte maravilloso, por adoptarme como a un hijo, por tantas alegrías, por hacerme crecer como jugador y como persona. Ha sido un privilegio único, y soy afortunado de haber logrado llegar hasta aquí. Estaré eternamente agradecido por lo que me dio este juego. En fin, el fútbol me lo dio TODO.
Estoy seguro que esto no termina aquí. Pronto nos volveremos a ver.

Hi everyone,
I would like to tell you something which is not easy for me. In fact, it is one of the most difficult things in my life because it is about saying goodbye to what I love so much.
I grew up playing indoor football and later I jumped into football. I clearly remember the day I stepped on the Guido Blanco Stadium for the first time. I have fond memories of that turf court where I started playing.
Ever since, it has been a long journey, with many good moments and others not so much. I have had extraordinary experiences and among them some very hard ones. Nonetheless, looking at the whole picture, every one of them was worth it.
In the last hours I have stopped to think about my walk, and I can only feel thankful for I have been lucky enough and was able to dedicate myself to that for which I am more passionate about, that which makes me happy, and that I love so much: football.
Of course, it is difficult to leave everything behind, but today I feel happy! I am proud of what I have achieved, for the experiences, for the learning, and especially for so many valuable people who have accompanied me through all these years. I would like to thank each of them:
To my family, for supporting me from the beginning, for the sacrifices they had to make, and for being there in the moments when I needed them the most.
To my wife and her family for making me feel at home even though I was thousands of miles from my birthplace. Without your love, understanding, and support, this journey would not have been the same. You have been a blessing all this time.
To my friends, who never doubted that I could overcome any obstacle and kept motivating me.
To Caracas Fútbol Club, the team I always dreamed of representing and where I took my first steps. Thanks for all the valuable lessons. You opened the doors to the world for me.
To Club Brugge, thanks for allowing me to continue my career outside Venezuela. You were instrumental during my adaptation to European soccer. With you I was able to fulfill the dream of playing in the Europa League. And within this club, I am especially thankful to the managers and fans with whom I lived when I arrived at the institution. I greatly appreciate all you did for me.
To Anderlecht, who will always be my team, thanks for supporting me in all aspects. I have wonderful memories of every championship won and I could experience with you, for the first time, what the feeling of the magical nights of Champions mean. I am very happy to keep friends for life among you.
To Balikesirsporsk, thanks for the opportunity and the trust you put in me to make me play at the highest level after being severed injured. You helped me see the importance of keeping my feet on the ground with invaluable teachings about life.
To AEK and their fans, owners of a glorious story. With you, I was able to experience the best year of my career. I feel honored to have worn your jersey.
To Newcastle, thanks for allowing me to live “The total experience”, for your professionalism, your kindness, and for supporting me with so much affection during one of the worst injuries I have had.
To Ostende and to Deinze, thanks for the opportunity of returning to Belgium, my second home, where I could experience great moments.
To my beloved Vinotinto, the one that is much more than soccer. The national team represents everything for me because there is nothing more important than wearing the colors of my country. It is my blood and my passion. I am proud of so many historical moments that we lived together, and I will carry them in my heart for a lifetime.
There were guides on every path I walked, so I want to show my gratitude to all the coaches who gave me the best tools to grow. I appreciate your believing in me and opening my eyes to the world of soccer.
I also want to thank all my co-workers: kitmen, doctors, physiotherapists, teammates, administrative staff, and managers with whom I shared. You trusted me and my work, helping me be better and for that you are unforgettable. Among you, I have friends and brothers for life.
To all the fans, you will be forever in my heart! Thanks for the unconditional love you gave me since day one.
Finally, I want to thank soccer for being that wonderful sport, for adopting me as a son, for so many joys, for making me grow as a player and as a person. It has been a unique privilege and I am fortunate to have made it this far. I will be forever grateful for what this sport has given me. Soccer has given me EVERYTHING.
To all of you, I’m sure my journey doesn’t end here. We will meet again.
